Money makes the Farm go round
Are you a bit of an organiser and love getting involved with great causes? Or know someone who is? Then put your talents to good use and organise your own Lineham fundraising activity! We’ll love you forever.
Whatever you do to raise money for us, we’ll post your efforts up here on the site. This will also make it easier for people to sponsor you online. Remember to keep a record of their name and address. And if you need things like balloons, brochures or stickers, call us on 0113 2817880.
Here are some ideas to get you started…
Ideas for adults / organisations
- Loose change
We run a 'Loose Change for Lineham' collection appeal. It’s probably the easiest way ever to raise money. All you do is collect all the loose change you can within a month. When the box is full, simply send us the money – or a cheque instead. Take it to work and get your colleagues to help you fill it. Or get the kids to take them to school.
Sound good? Call us on 0113 2817880 and we’ll send you a box.
- Car boot sale
You know all that junk that’s gathering dust in the attic / spare room / under your bed? Why not just fill up your car boot and sell it on? After all, one man’s trash is another’s treasure. Ask your friends and colleagues if they’ve got any junk too. (Then you’ll free up more space at home to fill with lots more newer, less dusty junk.)
- Barbecue
Everyone loves a good barbie, so dig out your apron and tongs and treat everyone you know to an al fresco feast. Get everyone to pay a small ‘entry fee’ – you could even hold some extra fun and games, such as a treasure hunt, tug o’ war or wet sponge competition to lure in the crowds.
- Give through your pay
Payroll Giving is an easy way to make regular donations. All you do is choose the amount you want to give each month, your employer deducts this from your salary and it’s then sent to us. We take your donation pre-tax so if you want to donate, say, £10 a month, you only actually give us £7.80 – the Government makes up the rest.
Or set up a standing order. We can post or email a standing order form to you, then all you need to do is complete it and hand it in to your bank. Simple.
- Raffle
Who can resist a good old-fashioned raffle? Whatever you’re putting up for grabs, remember you can only hold raffles on work premises or at organised gatherings. For public raffles and lotteries, you need a licence. Call us for more advice. And if you need an official letter to show to people who may be donating prizes, we’ll send one to you.
- Quiz
Pub quizzes are popular for a reason – we all love to show off our brainpower, especially if there’s an audience. So why not organise a quiz at your local pub or club? We’ll send you any posters, collecting tins, brochures and stickers if you want them.
- Sponsored events
Sponsored events are a great way to raise cash and there’s no end to what you can do – from hill walking to parachute jumping. Here’s a quick tip: get your first sponsor to put a nice, healthy amount at the top of the form – this will encourage people to dig a little deeper.
Any questions, give us a call on 0113 2817880.
Kids
- Odd jobs
Do odd jobs for your family and friends – maybe wash some cars, babysit or help out with the gardening. (As well as earning cash for us, you’ll score extra brownie points at home too.)
- Events
Ask your mum, dad or teachers to help you organise an event or fair of some kind – maybe for spring, Christmas or Easter. You could make presents and organise a talent contest or treasure hunt too.
Happy fundraising – and good luck.
