How to use each space at our weekend wedding venue
At Lineham Farm, we offer you a weekend wedding venue with a difference. We’re not about copy-and-paste weddings; our beautiful Yorkshire farm offers a choice of stunning spaces you can use to ensure your day is as unique as you are.
Here’s a little more about how you can make the most of each key space to create your dream wedding weekend.
The Barn Room

A magical indoor ceremony
The barn room boasts beautiful Yorkshire stone walls, a high beamed ceiling and is dotted with twinkling fairy lights. It’s our main function room and is the perfect space for a magical indoor ceremony.
Lots of couples like to dress the barn up with flowers and bunting to put their own stamp on it, but if you’re into rustic simplicity, we think it’s perfect as it is.
A cosy wedding meal
Sitting down with your loved ones to share your first meal as a married couple is a special part of any wedding day. Our barn room can seat up to 110 guests for a cosy wedding dinner.
When filled with lots of small tables so guests can chat freely, it’s the perfect dining space for parties who want everyone close by and a lot of fun conversation over dinner.
A relaxed evening do
With its charmingly informal atmosphere, the Barn Room is great for wedding parties who want to let their hair down a bit and dance the night away together.
At night, the barn comes into its own, as the sun goes down and the sparkling fairy lights light up the space. Bring in a DJ or a band, or simple curate your perfect playlist, and you won’t want the night to end. And the beauty of having a weekend wedding venue all to yourself is it won’t have to!
The Sitting Room

A calm “chill out” area
With comfortable leather sofas and a cosy woodburning stove, the sitting room is often used as a relaxed socialising area. Its floor-to-ceiling window means that it’s flooded with sunlight throughout the day, making it a fantastic gathering place.
Lots of couples like to put their bar in the Sitting Room. We think it’s a great spot for casual conversation over a relaxing drink or two.
An intimate ceremony
The sitting room is licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 60 people, so it’s great for an intimate indoor ceremony. Split over two levels, its stone walls, high-beamed ceilings and cast-iron staircase offer the perfect finishing touches for your chilled nuptials.
Venue styling can really help bring the sitting room to life. It’s the perfect blank canvas for a ceremony that’s completely your style.
The Courtyard

A sunny spot for a reception
Our courtyard is surrounded by our pretty Yorkshire stone farm buildings, sheltering it from wind and making it a lovely place for socialising and enjoying the fresh countryside air.
With room for a bar, outdoor DJ, decorating and dancing, we see a lot of couples opting to host casual drinks receptions or evening celebrations in the courtyard, where they can dance the night away beneath the stars. Bunting and lights are great additions to this space that look amazing in your wedding photos too.
The courtyard is also a popular spot to host street food vendors – we’ve seen pizza trucks, taco trucks and burger vans serving up food here.
A rustic outdoor blessing
If your dream ceremony takes place in the great outdoors, look no further than our courtyard. There’s plenty of room here to seat your guests, and it looks gorgeous when adorned with flowers and other decorations.
Bathed in sunlight (hopefully!) yet sheltered from strong winds, the courtyard is great if you want your ceremony close to the main buildings while still enjoying the Yorkshire countryside. And, if the weather ends up not being on your side and an unfortunate downpour should occur, our team will be on hand to help you move your ceremony indoors.
The Garden

An intimate outdoor ceremony
Our sensory garden is a lovely area close to the main farm buildings. With flower beds, vegetable patches, a pretty pond and, often, visiting birds, it’s a tranquil space that’s ideal for intimate outdoor ceremonies.
There’s beautiful views across the event field and surrounding countryside from the garden, which offer a striking backdrop to your exchanging of vows.
A serene relaxation area
Our garden is often used as a place to simply relax, enjoy the serenity and take in the events of the day. It has a small picnic area nearby which opens onto our expansive event field, making it a great relaxation area for outdoor weddings.
The surrounding countryside makes the garden the perfect place to pause for a breather amidst the celebrations, all while soaking up the beauty of the Yorkshire scenery.
The Event Field
A blank canvas ceremony
Our dedicated event field offers tonnes of space for the outdoor (or marquee) ceremony of your dreams. There’s really no limit to what you can do.
Dress up the event field however you like – bring in a marquee, tipi or yurt to make a bold impression and create a dedicated ceremony space. Or get married out in fresh air with hay bales and blankets.
Blue-sky dining
What could be better than enjoying a wedding meal in the sun, surrounded by spectacular Yorkshire scenery? The event field can be used for the wedding meal party of your dreams.
With almost endless space, the event field is good for large groups who want a lot of room to move around in during their wedding meal. Bring in tables where you can lay out an unforgettable spread, or go untraditional with a wedding picnic. If you’re looking for some more ideas, check out our blog on alternative wedding food.

A festival-style party
If you don’t want to toe the line of tradition, a festival wedding might be the answer. And if you choose to host your celebrations at our weekend wedding venue, you’re in luck.
Our event field has more than enough room for your mini Glasto. Set up lawn games, hire food trucks, get a ‘main stage’ – you can be as creative as you like! With plenty of room for children (or adults…) to run around and let off steam, the event field is a nice option for those looking for a family-friendly wedding day.
If you’re opting for outdoor music, we do ask that to respect our neighbours the party is taken indoors at midnight. Luckily, with our barn room and sitting room at your disposal, that won’t be a problem!
Woodlands
Dreamy wedding photos
When you host your weekend wedding at Lineham Farm, it’s hard to ignore the glorious woodlands that are part of the farm.
Many couples choose to slip away from the celebrations to take a romantic stroll and capture those ever-important couple shots in the woodlands. It’s a lovely place for intimate, just-married snaps with an ethereal outdoor atmosphere.
A woodland ceremony
If you want the woodlands to play a bigger part in your wedding, we have plenty of fairytale spots you can use for a woodland ceremony or blessing.
Exchanging vows beneath the forest canopy promises to be a completely unforgettable experience and is perfect for nature-loving couples who like to do things a little differently.
Lineham Farm offers a blank canvas weekend wedding venue that you can use to create the celebrations of your dreams.
